Community Repair Days
We've all looked for signs of economic recovery after the Great Recession. The activity level of local builders creates optimism that things are, indeed, turning around. But increased demand from paying projects hasn't stopped those builders from volunteering their resources in order to help needy families throughout Kent County.
Once again, members of the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids (HBA) donated their time and solicited materials to ensure a successful Community Repair Days. Crews completed critical repairs for 18 lower-income homeowners throughout Kent County, adding to the impact of the essential work completed during the preceding 25 years of this partnership. And once again, we use the word "Day" loosely, as crews actually began work in May. Volunteers built ramps throughout the year as part of Community Repair Days, and we were able to complete the last two jobs the week of Christmas.
Thanks to the generosity of HBA members for making Community Repair Days 2016 such a success!
