Could I do air sealing myself?

Here are some excerpts from the EPA’s Do-it-Yourself Guide to Sealing and Insulating with Energy Star®

“Sealing and insulating your home is one of the most cost-effective ways to make a home more comfortable and energy efficient—and you can do it yourself.

In most homes the most significant air leaks are hidden in the attic and basement. These are the leaks that significantly raise your energy bill and make your house uncomfortable.  The illustration [above] shows warm air leaving (red arrows) the house through the attic and cold air being pulled into the house (blue arrows). Locating these leaks can be difficult because they are often hidden under your insulation. This guide will help you find these leaks and seal them with appropriate materials.”

If you are a qualifying Kent County homeowner, we can bring our equipment to your home and help you find and fix the air leaks.
