Donate an Item

Help our community by donating an item to the Making It Home charity auction. All proceeds will benefit the non-profit mission of Home Repair Services and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We'll happily publicize your gift in our catalog, signage, newspaper advertisements and online.  The deadline for item donations is Wednesday June 15, 2011. We are looking for new or unique items in the following categories:

  • Furniture for the home or home office
  • Dining and vacation adventures
  • Gift certificates to any business or service provider
  • Services, from spa packages and painting to graphic design and decorating
  • Home office equipment such as computers, printers, desks and lamps
  • Original or limited-edition artwork, from prints and paintings to ceramics
  • Power tools and hand tools for the home
  • Items signed by an artist, musician or celebrity
  • Gourmet food and wine
  • Quilts, linens, aprons, wall hangings and other fabric decor

Item donors are eligible for special benefits, including the following:

  • One free event ticket for items valued at $100+
  • Two free event tickets for items valued at $200+
  • Recognition in the auction event program
  • Recognition on the Home Repair Services website

Volunteer

Right now our greatest needs are for photographers, Fix-it School teachers and a volunteer liaison.  If you're interested in any of these roles, contact Stan Greene at (616) 241-2601, ext. 223 and tell him "I've got skills you can use!"

Requirements

To qualify for services you must own, or be buying, the home in which you live.  The home must be in Kent County.  Your combined household income must be below our published guidelines.
