Volunteers Welcome!

More than 700 people volunteer at Home Repair Services each year.  Some give a Saturday a month.  Others are retirees who work along with our staff.  Many are part of a church or trade association's annual community outreach event.

We're currently recruiting enthusiastic people for the following volunteer opportunities:

  • Fix-it School Teacher: If you have experience with home repairs and enjoy sharing your knowledge, give us a call!
  • Photographer: Great things happen at Home Repair Services. Help us show the world!
  • Remodelng Coaches:  Work side-by-side with homeowners as they complete home improvement projects!
  • Volunteer Liaison:  Help recruit others to join in supporting lower-income homeowners!
  • Woodshop Worker:  Build cabinets for sale in the Builders' Abundance store! 

If you're interested, complete a Volunteer Application or contact Stan Greene at 616-241-2601, ext. 223 and tell him "I've got skills you can use!".

Requirements

To qualify for services you must own, or be buying, the home in which you live.  The home must be in Kent County.  Your combined household income must be below our published guidelines.
